10 best cities in the US to look for STEM jobs

As September nears, all of grad students are trying to finish up their thesis so that they can graduate. One word that always goes along with graduation is work. Welcome to the real world where you can no longer sleep in as long as you want. If you need to find a STEM job, do you know where you can find one with more ease? In this post, I will share with 10 great cities listed by Forbes to look for STEM jobs.

The results that I will showing is dated on June 18, 2013. Forbes and the online job search engine Indeed have teamed up to compile a list of the 10 cities with the highest number of available STEM positions. You can find more information in this article.

The top 10 cities are listed below:
  1. Dallas
  2. Atlanta
  3. Houston
  4. Los Angeles
  5. Chicago
  6. Boston
  7. San Francisco
  8. San Jose - Once again, unexpected to me. But, according to Forbes, San Jose was one of the earlier cities that embraced IT startups.
  9. Washington DC - Defense, aerospace, health care and IT are the main sector which hires a lot.
  10. New York - Surprising result for me. I thought San Francisco would be number 1. According to Forbes, start up financing is helping to fuel much of the demand.
If you are a STEM graduate who also thinking to move to another city to find a job, then these cities should definitely be on your list. These results are rather surprising to me and I wish best of luck to those who are looking for a job.
